November 11, 2011—Synergy Marketing Inc. (Kita Ward, Osaka, Japan; President and CEO Hitoshi Tanii; Japanese securities code 3859) announced the release of its cloud-based social knowledge database, iNSIGHTBOX, which integrates Basis Technology’s Rosette® Base Linguistics Japanese component and Rosette® Entity Extractor.
iNSIGHTBOX is a social intelligence database that helps enterprises analyze myriad data (excepting personal information) across different domains, by acting as a social intelligence reference source, thus helping companies gain insights about their customers. With this service, enterprises in all types of industries and sales channels can abstract corporate data based on special rules. Performing computations with a proprietary algorithm, iNSIGHTBOX quantitatively manages the relationships between the data. Thus, what cannot be grasped from an analysis of internal company data alone, becomes possible when set in the context of trends in the outside world, allowing a true understanding of the needs of customers.
For the development of iNSIGHTBOX, Synergy Marketing used Basis Technology’s Rosette for Japanese tokenization (word breaking) and entity extraction in the pre-processing stage of information analysis. Rosette’s Japanese linguistic analysis is a high-performance text processing engine that is a required basic first step for processing webpages, email, and any database. Through its accurate linguistic analysis of Japanese, it supports highly accurate entity extraction. Rosette accurately extracts entities—e.g., personal names, place names, email addresses, URLs, key phrases, etc.—for efficient and accurate extraction of key words.
