Basis Technology Provides IPRO with
Multilingual E-Discovery

Rosette Linguistics Platform captures, reviews, and analyzes foreign language documents for legal discovery

Cambridge, Massachusetts — April 30, 2009 — Basis Technology today announced that IPRO Tech has integrated the Rosette® Linguistics Platform (RLP) into e-discovery and document review product lines. The products include e-Capture, a distributed e-discovery application, e-Review, a web based review application, and IPRO Eclipse, an advanced discovery management application for litigation. This integration enables IPRO to provide its clients with a comprehensive and defensible multilingual e-discovery and review capability.

IPRO now utilizes RLP for language identification, Unicode enablement, and text analysis of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Persian. This powerful combination enables IPRO Eclipse to search and review thousands of documents across multiple languages.

RLP is the world’s most widely-used family of commercial software products for multilingual text analysis. It delivers a broad range of analytic capabilities including multilingual search, entity extraction, name matching, and name translation.

“Natural language processing technology, as incorporated in RLP, can support people-based tasks like discovery,” said Steve Cohen, COO of Basis Technology. “RLP saves time and money for our customers, and enables new revenue-producing capabilities like Asian language text discovery and analysis. We’re very pleased to work with IPRO to bring this sophisticated technology to their enterprise solution.”

“Multilingual legal discovery is increasingly becoming a major concern to the industry,” said Jim King, CEO of IPRO. “We partnered with Basis Technology to ensure that all documents demanded in litigation will be identified and analyzed by empowering our applications with the best linguistics-based solutions. This combination lowers the risk of missing critical evidence hiding in documents containing different languages.”
