Unstructured and semi-structured data, in particular, whose content could be standardized in the past only with great difficulty, can be managed very efficiently using XML. Tamino is the worlds leading XML server (47.5% market share, according to the latest IDC study) and three of the largest web application server providers, IBM, BEA, and HP have all selected Tamino as their default XML server. Along with supporting numerous Windows and Unix systems, Tamino also runs on Linux and mainframe platforms and is used by more than 500 private and public organizations worldwide, including DaimlerChrysler, Virginia Tech University, and the California Board of Equalization.
